South Bayport is a gated community located on the south side of Plaza del Amo, west of Crenshaw Boulevard, between the Plaza Verde single-family development and the
Summerwind townhouse complex.
South Bayport consists of 145 total single family homes; 86 four-bedroom models and 59 three-bedroom
models. The four-bedroom homes range in size from 2,420 to 2,534 square
feet in size. The three-bedroom models range from 2,231 to 2,439 square feet.
All homes were built between 1987 and 1988 and are two levels with attached two-car garages. South Bayport was the first Plaza del Amo development that provided free
standing single family homes for interested home owners. Prior to this, all other Plaza del Amo projects were
either attached condominium or townhouse. Lot sizes generally are slightly over 5,000 square feet and
provide more yard space and separation than more recent single family developments in the area.
Common areas within South Bayport include a heated pool and spa, a community room, and a good
size park with playground equipment suitable for younger children.
